SYMPTOMS

Java installation has not completed and an error appears:

Error 1714. The older version of Java cannot be removed.
CAUSE

Error 1714 is an Install Shield error code. It indicates that the installation process has failed. The exact reason for this error is not known at this time. WORKAROUND
