With the exception of few hospitals, the general condition in government hospitals is very deplorable, In these hospitals, the life-saving drugs are not available. The patients are advised to buy them from the medical stores. All pathological tests are not available in the hospital laboratories. For some of them, the patients have to visit private laboratories. Oxygen cylinders are not in proper working order, and patients have to go without them. Arrangements for blood tests are not up to the mark, and during transfusion, some patients succumb to death. This is sheer killing. Facilities of physiotherapy are very rare. Specialists working in the hospitals are found persuading the patients to visit their private clinics. In the wards, the number of beds is not enough to accommodate all the indoor patients with the result that many patients are found lying in the verandahs.

With the growth of literacy and the development of the means of communication, they are playing a very important part in society. They have their uses and abuses.
Good Effects:
The uses of the media are numerous. First, they keep us in touch with the current world affairs. Without them we cannot know the important news of even our own towns or villages. They extend the bounds of our knowledge and make us feel that we are a part of living world.
Secondly, a great deal of information is supplied to us by the media. Important decisions of law-courts are published and aired for the benefit of lawyers. The sportsman finds in them the news of his own liking.
Lastly, the media have their educative value also. Readers of a good newspaper and viewers of television are more intelligent, active and better informed than scholars. Newspaper, radio and television help us in spreading good ideas.
Bad Effects:
Media has had a bad effect on a generation, mainly because youth is strongly influenced by media. Teenagers and children wish to follow the people, who get recognized and do what they do to get noticed. Sometimes, they focus on bad part of the media and strive to be a part of it. However, many are not succumbed to a life of crime. These are the things which get into Young civilian minds. The media affects people's perspective. Too much intervention of media in everything is a matter of concern. Media can be considered as "watch dog" of political democracy. Through the ages, the emphasis of media on news has camouflaged. Media these days, tries to eye the news ,which could help them to sell the information that is gathered worldwide, so that they could pave a way of success and fame of their respective channels.

Introduction:
“Adulteration” according to Chambers 21st Century Dictionary (1996) means "debasing something or rendering it impure by mixing it with something inferior or harmful."
The toll of human life that adulteration takes is only next to war. The damage is not only immediate but far-reaching. It has a very bad effect on human mechanism. Vitality in man is lowered. Paralysis has become very common because of adulteration. Widespread blindness in the people of Pakistan owes much to this bad practice. Outbreak of certain diseases and epidemics are also the after-effects of adulteration. In a word, adulteration is like a white ant. Who are eating national health without much apparent damage?
History:
History shows that this moral evil existed even among the Greeks and Roman thousands of years ago. It could not become the talk of the town because of the want of statistical data on the subject. Moreover, the detection in those days depended to a great extent, on the delicacy of the individual. There were no chemical tests. Usually adulteration went undetected. Today it has become very common. The greed of the profit has drawn dishonest souls to this field. These people employ different modes of adulteration to deceive the people. First, they mix a thing of inferior quality with that of superior quality.
Food Adulteration:
Food adulteration is the act of adding or mixing something inferior, harmful, useless, and unnecessary substances to food. The adulteration of food means the addition of something that isn't food into a food product, in order to be able to get more products to sell at less cost. A recent example was the addition of melamine into milk, by a factory in China. The melamine resembled milk protein closely enough that the milk was able to pass inspection, yet it also proved to be toxic, causing a number of deaths. Adding sawdust to ground meat would be another example.
Conclusion:
An elaborate system of control is needed to check adulteration. An organized should be set up and provided with sufficient resources. It should investigate the dietary habits of the people and the pattern of food consumption. Rewards for informers of successful cases should be announced.]]>

Adulteration-An Evil of Society (2014)

Introduction:
“Adulteration” according to Chambers 21st Century Dictionary (1996) means "debasing something or rendering it impure by mixing it with something inferior or harmful."
The toll of human life that adulteration takes is only next to war. The damage is not only immediate but far-reaching. It has a very bad effect on human mechanism. Vitality in man is lowered. Paralysis has become very common because of adulteration. Widespread blindness in the people of Pakistan owes much to this bad practice. Outbreak of certain diseases and epidemics are also the after-effects of adulteration. In a word, adulteration is like a white ant. Who are eating national health without much apparent damage?
History:
History shows that this moral evil existed even among the Greeks and Roman thousands of years ago. It could not become the talk of the town because of the want of statistical data on the subject. Moreover, the detection in those days depended to a great extent, on the delicacy of the individual. There were no chemical tests. Usually adulteration went undetected. Today it has become very common. The greed of the profit has drawn dishonest souls to this field. These people employ different modes of adulteration to deceive the people. First, they mix a thing of inferior quality with that of superior quality.

Through the columns of your esteemed paper, I want to invite the attention of the authorities and the public to the problem of rash driving.
These days, road accidents have been on the increase. The main cause is rash and reckless driving. Buses start a race to beat one another. The drivers try to overtake one another. Most of the roads and turnings in our country are narrow and risky. This results in horrible accidents: I suggest the following steps to check this tendency.
· Police check-posts should be set up at small distances. Surprise raids should be made on the running buses.
· Licenses of the drivers who are in the habit of rash driving should be cancelled at once. If the bus companies neglect the warning, their route permits should be discontinued.
· The public should also co-operate with the Government. The passenger should enforce the drivers not to exceed the speed limit. They should refuse to travel by the buses which do not follow traffic rules. This can do much in this respect.

Co-education has remained controversial issue in our country. Some people are in favour of this system and want to introduce it in all schools and colleges. They say that this system is very useful. They give many arguments in its favour. Their main argument is that in a poor and backward country like Pakistan it is very difficult to maintain separate institutions for boys and girls.
Some people say that coeducation is useful for our culture and traditions. They are of the view that the social contacts between both the sexes will develop in them a sort of mutual understanding. In this way, a sense of competition will develop among boys and girls. And the boys will become civilized and polite towards girls.
Another argument given by the proponents of co-education is that a person’s moral and Islamic values are built at home, thus neither co-education nor same-sex education plays any part in damaging or improving these values.
[SIZE="4"]People against Co-Education:[/SIZE]
Some people speak against co-education and they say that in co-education environments, students have more opportunity and temptations to go astray. They cannot maintain the right etiquette of intermingling as prescribed by the Islamic Shari‘ah, at all times during school hours. Also, students in a co-education school might become more consumed by how they appear or present themselves to the opposite sex as compared to their studies.
[SIZE="4"]Islamically:[/SIZE]
There is no harm in a group of people, to be present in a classroom, listening to a lecture, provided that everyone behaves properly, and abiding by Islamic teaching and code of conduct. But when we put together a group of young boys and girls, close to the period of adolescence, in the relaxed environment of a school where they meet and play, then it is asking too much of young people to observe Islamic standards of morality. The results may be very destructive. Therefore, we can say that coeducation is Islamically unacceptable, because of what it leads to, not because of the process of teaching or of the meeting of the two sexes in a classroom.

A country can develop only by increasing the rate of literacy. Unfortunately, for developing countries, there is a dearth of well trained teachers. Poverty has been one of the biggest problems that Pakistan faces today. Nearly 60 per cent of the population of Pakistan lives in villages. According to an analysis, poverty has increased roughly from 30% to 40% during the past decade. It means that 40 per cent of the country’s population is earning their livelihood below the poverty line. In such condition, it is very difficult for the people to live. Proper education and medicine are becoming distant from them. They are forced to think of their survival only of due to poverty and unemployment, parents instead of sending their children to schools, prefer child labor for them. They make them do so to support their family.
[SIZE="4"]Over Population:[/SIZE]
At the time of partition, Pakistan had a population of 33 million. Today, our country has crossed the number of 18 crore. At present, Pakistan’s population is growing at the rate of 1.57% yearly. If the current growth rate of Pakistan remained continued, the day is not away when Pakistan would be number 1 in term of population.
[SIZE="4"]Dengue:[/SIZE]
Due to the negligence and unawareness, Dengue has become one of the most horrible diseases in Pakistan. People must be taught to carry out special precautions for saving themselves from all such ailments. Special vaccines should be introduced and common man should be educated about them.

These all are the common major issues of Pakistan and the Government is merely interested in filling their bank accounts instead of trying to solve these problems.
